Instructional Planning

Planning is a process that begins with objectives and defines straategies, policies, and detailed plan to achieve the desired results. As a teacher, we need to have a guide in order to prepare and organize lessons, and this we call mapping. It identifies and details the content, concept, skills, and sometimes, values to be taught for the entire course.

There are some guidelines for mapping recomendations or course level of planning. Be sure you understand the rational of the course in the context of goals of the school. Clarify the focus of the course designed to stress subject matter, learner need, or social needs. Determine if there is special need for the course. And decide on important components so that they can be used as framework for your unit planning.

One of the ability of the teacher is to visualize and forecast into of the what, why, and how the teaching learning process is instructional planning. This is also important in teaching, because it provides an overview of instruction by presenting of the lesson on that certain day.
