Unit Plan

As a teacher we need to have a unit plan because this serve as a basis for developing a set of related daily teaching plans and educational activities.

There are five(5) components of  unit plan that are going to apply. First, what are your objectives in making a unit plan. Next is content, it often includes the three categories: knowledge, skills, and values. Then skills, it consists of critical reading, skimming, and scanning. Learning activities, such as: field trips, debates, research, and experiments. And the last one is Resource materials.

Instructional Planning

Planning is a process that begins with objectives and defines straategies, policies, and detailed plan to achieve the desired results. As a teacher, we need to have a guide in order to prepare and organize lessons, and this we call mapping. It identifies and details the content, concept, skills, and sometimes, values to be taught for the entire course.

There are some guidelines for mapping recomendations or course level of planning. Be sure you understand the rational of the course in the context of goals of the school. Clarify the focus of the course designed to stress subject matter, learner need, or social needs. Determine if there is special need for the course. And decide on important components so that they can be used as framework for your unit planning.

One of the ability of the teacher is to visualize and forecast into of the what, why, and how the teaching learning process is instructional planning. This is also important in teaching, because it provides an overview of instruction by presenting of the lesson on that certain day.

Function of Teachings

There are many things we have learned in functions of teaching. It consist of  principles, theories, and laws. One of these lessons, can touch my curiosity is in perennialism theory. One of these theory is: a preparation for life, which is contrary to Dewey's tenets and principles. He says Education is life, not a preparation for life.

I learned also that education is a social process. It is a part of  learning through other people's behavior. Learning is not just  only in school but in every aspect in our life.

The second one is intrinsic motivation which is creating a desire to learn an area of knowledge because it is worth knowing.
In characteristics of learning, there are five factors that contribute to learning. These are: Drive and Motivation, Positive transfer of learning, Usefulness of materials, the number of sense involved, and Feedback or knowledge of results. These factors teach us the significance of teaching strategy. It helps also to improve our performance as motivated person.
